Rare Antique Burmese Buddha statue from the Shan Tai Yai period. This style Buddha is seated in the classic pose of "calling the earth to witness". This pose is Buddha attaining enlightenment by conquering earthy and evil forces. A serene and peaceful pose of buddha as he reaches enlightenment. Origin: burma (modern day Myanmar) material: bronze alloy, age related wear. No cracks or repairs. Some gold gilding remains on statue.
