Rare bi-color untreated 45ct Welo Black Opal

This unique opal has a semi-black top with a translucent bottom! Cut from the same vein, you can see the well defined point where the colors naturally converge. It exhibits red, green and gold play of color held under its glistening liquid luster. This rare collectors example of converging opal crystals is unheated, and shows much more play of color in person. It measures 31mm x 19mm x 17mm, and was sourced from Welo, Ethiopia.
