Quality hand knotted semi antique Persian Bakhtiari rug. Size 7.0x10.3 ft, made of fine quality lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation, all natural vegetable dye, incorporating floral patterns on an abrash red background with a centeral unique characteristic of dual headed large medallion and finished off beautifully with a floral border. Made by Bakhtiari nomadic tribes of western Iran. Bakhtiari is an ancient southwestern Iranian tribe. Bakhtiaris were nomadic pastoralists and weaving rugs was and still is a unique way of expression and telling stories.
