JUSTICE BYRON R. WHITE AUTOGRAPH ON CARD STOCK.
Byron R. White (1917-2002), was the first appointment to the Supreme Court by President Kennedy and served from 1962 until his retirement in 1993. White played professional football for the then Pittsburgh Pirates (now the Steelers) to earn money for law school, and was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford until World War II broke out. He returned to the U.S. and enrolled in Yale Law School in 1940 and also played two seasons with the Detroit Lions.
This lot is from the estate of a lifelong collector. Descriptions are believed to be correct but the auction company cannot guarantee genuineness.
