Biography: Mancas Andreea-Mara is an artist living and working in Iasi, Romania. Her main artistic medium is painting, with an interest in installation and a complementary career as an interior designer. With drawing and painting as a long-life passion, Mancas Andreea-Mara specialized in painting at the Art University of Iasi, which she graduated in 2003. In September 2013, she finished her PhD at the same University, with a thesis concerning the relationship between pure formal language and environmental design. He participated to a variety of group exhibitions and she had eight personal art shows, as well as numerous art shows in non-conventional spaces. She considers art to be a path of continuous discovery and believes in tenacious work in order to bring out an artist’s true personal expression, beyond the lessons that one has been taught. In her work, Mancas Andreea-Mara blends observation with self-expression and conceptual content with an aesthetic appeal. She approaches traditional techniques of painting and drawing with certain looseness. In a gallery setting, she would typically move towards site specific installations, combining a number of different mediums, mixing objects with drawing, photography or painting. One of the most collectible artists, Mancas Andreea-Mara is also a proud member of the International Artists Association.
